Dark Ocean Depths

Will these still waters flow or freeze to death?
Will my soul forever be a wasteland
or drown silently in dark ocean depths,
in a manner I cannot understand?
Has my heart grown colder or am I lost
in this realm of dissonance and decay?
Am I willing to fly at any cost
or am I a broken bird gone astray?
I can see ages pass before my eyes,
yet I am made none the wiser, clouded
by distortion and mockery and lies —
but by my own doing, I am shrouded.
Dark ocean depths carry my secret plea,
but inscribed within is my true decree.
